  • Open the door of your dishwasher to allow the dishes to air-dry rather than using the dry cycle.
  • Defrost your fridge and freezer regularly.
  • Make sure the door seals on your fridge and freezer are in good condition and replace when necessary.
  • Provide plenty of ventilation space around your fridge.
  • Locate your fridge and freezer out of direct sunlight and away from other heat sources such as the oven.
  • Fix dripping taps. A tap dripping 45 times per minute wastes around 1000 litres per month.
