Laundry and Bathroom - Energy Savings
  • Fix dripping taps. A tap dripping 45 times per minute wastes around 1000 litres per month.
  • Front loading washing machines are usually energy and water efficient than top loading machines.
  • Use cold water settings on your washing machine and wash full loads rather than a number of small loads.
  • Spin dry your washing in the washing machines before placing them in the clothes dryer to reduce drying time.
  • Ensure that your clothes dryer is adequately ventilated.
  • To ensure optimal efficiency clean the lint filter on your clothes dryer after each use.
  • Dry clothes on your outdoor clothes line whenever possible. Energy from the sun is free
